Projects

Alcoholics Anonymous

Here I worked with a team on a sprint cycle to create a website for our local Alcoholics Anonymous chapter! We used a bootstrap template to get us started on the project, and used node for our backend.

Pokedex

This web app has a Pokedex that allows the user to search for a Pokémon and its characteristics using the PokeAPI. The user can also send an email message on the contact page, AND it has a random page that displays a random Pokémon - like the guessing game in the tv show? Yeah we have that too. Oh and we have Pokémon themed contact cards! I lead a team through a sprint cycle for this.

It’s also having some technical issues right now, so the Heroku doesn’t work and the Pokedex page isn’t running.

Daily Comic

Now this one is exciting AND working. It fetches the Comic of the Day and a random comic using XKCD API. Uses Node.js, and is fun to browse through for some jokes.

Spooky To-Do List

Just a simple little to-do list using MongoDB. I did this in October - hence the theme.

PsychWard

Text-based game in C#. RPG styled, pretty fun actually if you have the time. It’s forked because one of my teammates pushed it from his computer (and mine crashed during that period in which we made it) so that was the only version I could find of it.

That’s nice, but what else can I do?

Well lucky you I made a list of things I know stuff about

  • Node.js

  • React

  • Heroku

  • Bootstrap

  • MongoDB

  • Squarespace

  • Github/Gitpod/Git

  • Freedcamp

  • JetBrains & Netbeans

  • and more specifically Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro

  • HTML/CSS/Js (The obvious)

  • C# (Coded a text game in it, fond of it)

  • Java (Really almost C# so I like)

  • Python (the basic understanding)

  • SQL

  • jQuery

  • Linux/Windows/MacOS

  • Microsoft Office

  • Visual Studio

  • Adobe Creative Cloud

Do I have any experience?

Well, aside from my projects and helping the local AA chapter - yes

First half of 2022 - Final Semester of University

I finished my degree at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, South Korea. I spent my time in Korea getting into filmmaking and reformed my website as a project while abroad.

Last half of 2021 - Mid-Pandemic

I’m worked as a Research Assistant for my university in cybersecurity interestingly enough. We researched detecting upstream connection chain length in stepping-stone intrusion. Then I traveled to the Southeast ACM conference and presented my research. If that made no sense to you - I’m doing cool stuff to help stop the bad guy hackers.

2018 - Beginning of Pandemic

I worked at Bath & Body Works. Yes, yes I probably sold your parents candles at some point. No I don’t remember. The management loved me though, I was the lead stocker and got some recognition for improving the stocking system in my store.

Since 2017

I started doing pictures for money in 2017, but I haven’t done it as a consistent business since then. I have done a few shoots, but school and my other jobs have kept me mostly busy. However, I did do this entire website, take all the pictures on it (minus the blog), and I manage any and everything that has to do with this.

Do I go to school?

Not anymore. I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science in June of 2022.

Columbus State University is where I have been since 2018 (2016 if you want to count my enrollment during high school). I’m a Computer Science student on the Web Development Track. Hence all these websites I keep making.

Hankuk University of Foreign Studies is where I finished my undergraduate degree. I graduated in Spring of 2022.

Did you pay for any certification tests?

No. But I did get these two!

·         Cybersecurity Awareness Certificate

Columbus State University, Columbus Georgia

·         Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition

Sanford D. Bishop, Cusseta, Georgia

Alright but really, what am I interested in?

Well actually, after bouncing around in my degree a lot, I found an area that appeals to me more than the others.

  • Front-end web-development. Nothing like the pain of CSS styling to fuel your day. I would say I enjoy myself the most making things I can see evolve as I do them.

  • C#, Java, Python, related things - I enjoyed this a bit and have created some fun projects in it, like my C# game. However, I have found that keeping up with so many different concepts and languages makes it really hard to hone in on one area. I simply do not have enough time or energy to practice designing websites while also polishing my Java interview question skills while also taking pictures while also working while also going to school while also sleeping and keeping a generally healthy life and while also…. you get the point.

In 2022 I lived in 2 countries and traveled another 7. I want to get a full-time position as a Solutions Architect and launch my career.
